Feaster for Easter

Happy Belated Easter, Everyone. We had a wonderful weekend and hope you did too. On Saturday afternoon, we had a fun time being kids and dyeing eggs.

We also enjoyed some Easter treats that both my mom and Joel's mom sent us Here's a picture of the spread.(thanks!).

The lilies are from my sweet husband. The whole apartment still smells wonderful!

On Sunday, we went to Cherrydale and enjoyed a great sermon by Pastor King and a lovely rendition of the Hallelujah chorus by the choir. After church, we went home, changed out of our "church clothes" and grabbed jackets and blankets and headed out to pick up some lunch.

Now this was no ordinary lunch. We went to Famous Dave's Bar-be-que, which neither of us had tried before but we will definitely be going back! We splurged on the "Feast for Two" which included (and was incredible!):

1/2 chicken
1/2 rack of ribs
1/4 lb. of brisket
2 corn on the cob
a whole bunch of fries
baked beans
coleslaw
2 yummy corn muffins (we think they were actually cake)
2 (very) sweet teas

For dessert, I enjoyed a "Krispie Chick" which Joel (um, I mean, the "Easter Bunny") got me. Here are some pictures (before and after):

We were out at Haines Point down by the National Mall in DC. It looks like the Cherry Trees are just about to pop. We're going with Trent, Amy and Nadia this Friday afternoon. I'll sure I'll have some fun pictures to post then. Stay tuned!
