Around town

Last night I was inspired to take some photographs on my walk home. It was a beautiful day, the birds were chirping, the trees are just starting to bud, and so I thought I would share it with those who may not quite yet be approaching Spring (aka all you readers in Alaska!). I'm sure more springy pictures will be forth-coming. Enjoy this first batch.

This is just one of the streets I walk down. These red-colored buds are the first to peek out. And I love the red berries on the holly in the foreground.
A close up of the lovely red soon-to-be leaves. I'll have to figure out what this tree is...

Olde Towne School for Dogs- isn't it cute? I'm guessing that is one well-used hydrant! This is where we get the cats' food. (We don't tell them it's a doggie school!)

Just a picturesque ivy covered door. Very quaint and Old-Towny.
I realize this isn't a pretty building, but it is close to my house and it's one of those places that for some reason I never have really noticed before (hmm... go figure). It's quite a contrast with the rest of Old Town, and a real-estate gold mine, I'm sure.
In contrast to the previous, Trader Joe's and Blockbuster is really close to us too in this new office building. I LOVE Trader Joe's! Click here if you've never heard of it.

As I got home, I witnessed this lovely sunset from our balcony.
