Alaska!

No, this is not where we stayed. But it sums up this place pretty well...
The morning before the shower we headed to Girdwood for a scenic drive and stopped at this bakery for a cinnamon roll.

The scenery... incredible!
We also had to do some shots at Beluga Point- this is a special place for us. We have done this drive and taken pictures in this place before we left for college, and after our wedding. Here we are with baby on the way! PS: Don't worry, I'm not trying to rock the feathered bangs look- it was windy! :)
Baby shower at Aunt Laurie's! Some of the presents. There were so many! We are so blessed! Mom with the rocking chair that she's handing down to me- I think our daughter will be the fourth generation to use it. Precious. After the shower. Mommy and baby need a break from all the excitement. Next stop- packing everything to go back to Virginia! Later in the weekend we drove out to Chickaloon to visit a place of many childhood memories for me, the cabins my Grandpa built with his bare hands and a homemade sawmill. There is a lady renting this cabin now, and she's kept it in pretty good shape, which is a relief. This is the biggest of the four cabins. I snuck a shot with my little point and shoot! Joel had fun playing with our new camera. As you can see from the other photos, he's developed into quite a great photographer. We ate lunch here. I ate here with my Grandma ages ago, and wasn't sure what to expect, but the greasy burger was super yummy! Pretty classic Alaska right here. For more pictures of our Chickaloon trip, check out our flickr site. The last night we had to eat at Moose's Tooth. This isn't the best picture but it's still sweet with Addi's hand on my belly (that's my little brother's daughter and her sister, Katie).
It was a pretty short visit, but very sweet and we can't wait to go back and bring our little one!

Pretty pictures! Your niece is so cute and I am glad that you are not feathering your bangs. hehe
