Cookies and Tea

Despite what the name of this post implies, I am not having a tea party in the new house (yet). Those are the names of the colors we are painting on the the main level. Cookie Crumb is in the living and dining rooms. It's a nice medium beige (I think it looks like coffee with a lot of cream in it) that works with both the light blue/gray carpet and the warm colors of the hardwoods. Through the archway into the family room and kitchen is where things get interesting. It looks like someone has been painting with tomato soup! That would be the Iced Tea color I selected. It will look good with the red flecks in the granite counters as well as with the cream furniture and black and white photography I plan to put in there. Sorry I don't have a way to post pictures yet.

In other news, we went to Lowe's last night (which we much prefer to Home Depot, those of you that might be thinking of purchasing gift cards for us!) and found a light fixture for the dining room and one for the entry way that were really reasonably priced. They will be much improved over our fake candle lightbulbs/brass and glass contraption that's there now.

Joel just left for work, and I have a shorter day because this evening I have to walk into town (a mile) to catch the bus to the metro to go back to Alexandria so we can finish packing our apartment and be ready for the movers in the morning. Better get painting... I wish I was having a tea party instead.
