Well, we knew that if the last place we put a contract on fell through, that God must have a better place in mind. We think we've found it. This place is on the same street (we loved the neighborhood) but is in much better shape overall and cheaper too! We put in a contract, the sellers accepted our price right away, but we've been waiting because we had a contingency in our contract (at our seller's request) that we wait for 7 days for them to get a contract on a home to buy. For a few days it was looking like our sellers were not going to be able to purchase the home they wanted, but just 3 days ago they ratified a contract, which means that ours can also move forward! We had it inspected on Tuesday morning, right before we left for Chicago. The inspector had so many good things to say, there really aren't any issues with it. So the last hoop to jump through is the appraisal and then we'll close on January 27! We are SO excited!

The kitchen. I think we'll invest in some new black appliances and continue the hardwoods from the family room. The door leads out to the deck. The island is moveable and I'm sure they'll take it with them, but we'll get something similar.

Upstairs we also have 2 other bedrooms, another bath (room for guests, hint, hint!). Downstairs is the rec room, storage closets and one car garage.
