Iwo Jima and Star Wars

Nothing is more romantic than sitting in the cold weather, eating proscuitto panino (proscuitto wrapped with mozzerella) and french rolls while drinking wine and enjoying a lovely view of DC across the Iwo Jima memorial. Gotta love the spontaneous date. That was our Friday night.

At Costco (where the above mentioned dinner was purchased) we also bought our first game for our Nintendo Wii. We'd just been renting them for a while but decided that Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga was worth the commitment. So take a game where you play through each Star Wars episode (which I still don't know very well) and mix it with Lego characters (such as when you shoot at a drone, it breaks up into Lego pieces- fun!) and you get Lego Star Wars! You can also use the force to build Lego structures that you need to complete the game. As my co-worker stated "it's so nerdy, but in a good way." Yes, thank you, I know.

The other weekend highlights involved an autumn dinner at home (Porkchops with homemade applesauce, butternut squash soup and pumpkin pie) and learning a few new 2 player card games (German Whist and Speed). I'll post the recipe for the soup if I can remember to bring it into work.
Until next time....

Why do you always get to eat grown up meals and wine? I want to be cool like you!
