A very exciting weekend

I wish. Basically, we cleaned the kitchen. When I say "clean" I mean, like when you move clean. Take everything out of cabinet, wipe down cabinet, wipe down cabinet stuff, reorganize cabinet, repeat with next cabinet. Joel pulled out the stove (an interesting operation since it is hooked to the gas line) and we almost couldn't get it put back in (a VERY tight fit). Why didn't I take a picture of him trapped behind the stove, under the vent? It was a good one. We pulled out the refrigerator. We did it all, and now it's sparkling clean, brand new looking and it's really great. Next weekend, we're going to attempt to do this to the rest of the place. Don't worry, our apartment's not that big. Only about 800 feet, and we've already done the hardest part. Except we are going to rent a Rug Doctor, so that could be fun.

I know what you're thinking... "adventures"? I know you want to read about all the cool travelling, and the senators we see in the grocery store, and all that. Some weekends that happens (okay, maybe not the senators, but there are a lot of black SUVs around with Secret Service detail). But this weekend we cleaned.

I guess that's not ALL we did. We also went to Let's Dish (www.letsdish.com) for our friends Trent and Amy. Amy is 9 months pregnant (due October 10th) and has been semi-bedridden for the last 2 weeks or so. Let's Dish is a place where you sign up online for meals and then you go and prepare the meals at their facility. The only thing is, it's all made for the freezer. It was actually a lot of fun to do- there's music playing and free cookies and scones (Joel definitely enjoyed this part the most!) and it only took about 1 hour and a half to fix 8 meals of 6 servings each. We then delivered the meals to Trent and Amy, and then they promptly fixed one of them for us all to eat for dinner. We hung out for a while (trying to keep Amy happy just sitting on the couch). We watched Planet Earth (amazing!) and then went home, to bed.

Sunday we woke and guess what we did? Cleaned.

Maybe next weekend will be more adventurous.
